1 Thessalonians 2:4: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

It is amazing but true that God has entrusted the gospel to ordinary believers here on earth, all of them, not just full-time ministers. His words will not always please unbelievers. We should be prepared for that but speak them anyway.

2 Timothy 4:2: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

God*s words have power that our words do not. His words have power to give us faith, to become part of us, to set us apart from the world and to help us grow as Christians. It can do all of those things for others too, so it is vital that we hear and study His Word and that we share it with others.

Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

James 1:21: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 17:17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

1 Peter 2:2: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

When we share His Word, we are labouring with Him and more importantly, He works with us. He is abundantly able to work with us, in us and through us.

1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God*s husbandry, ye are God*s building.

Philippians 2:12: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

We must remember that without Him we can do nothing and with Him we can do all things, otherwise we will become unfruitful by taking credit for what only He could have done, instead of rejoicing for what He has done. Many believers, actually of us, have made that mistake.

John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

My Pastor quoted John MacArthur: No brush takes credit for what the artist has done and no violin takes credit for what the musician has done. I would love to be as useful to the Lord as a brush is to an artist and a violin is to a virtuoso. It would be very unwise for me to doubt that God can use me and it would be very unwise for you to doubt that He can use you. We must doubt ourselves but we must not doubt His power to use us. YOU must not doubt His power to use you.

James 5:17: Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
